Ask your guide to stop at a village like Pakhiralaya or Dayapur. See the mud houses, buy local honey, and witness the worship of Bonbibi and Dakshin Rai (the tiger demon). A gentle reminder, too: these islands are not theme-park backdrops. The Sunderbans biosphere holds vast human communities as well as vast wilderness, and the everyday code here (permission before photographs, buying directly from locals, treading lightly around shrines and river work) is part of what makes the place feel honest.
