The Twin Lakes

The two lakes at the heart of the sanctuary are worth experiencing simply as natural features, independent of wildlife watching. The lake, complete with seating for visitors, is distinguished by a large, decorative model of a snake positioned in its centre. Though this landmark might seem slightly out of place, it is much cherished by the local community. The other lake is wilder and more atmospherically suited to nature watching. Both are frequently shrouded in mist, especially in the morning, giving the site an almost otherworldly quality.
