The Tomb of Farid Shah (Faridpur Village)

Around 5km north of the main monument complex lies the village of Faridpur, where Mir Madan's body was reportedly buried at the tomb of Farid Shah. The tomb offers a quieter, more spiritual dimension to the visit and is rarely crowded. Local rickshaw-wallahs or auto-drivers from Plassey town know it well. The site involves a short walk through rural West Bengal countryside that is, in its own right, beautiful with rice paddies, mango groves and the wide silver glint of the Bhagirathi in the distance.
