Takdah's weekly market draws villagers from the surrounding hamlets of Baramangwa, Chota Mangwa and the tea garden settlements, both as buyers and sellers of fresh produce, spices, cloth and kitchen goods. It is a genuinely local event, not a tourist market, and offers an unscripted portrait of hill community life.
