Sundar Narayan Dharma Thakur’s Temple

Within the Jayrambati complex, the small shrine of Sundar Narayan Dharma Thakur preserves the domestic religious world into which Sarada Devi was born. The deity, ancestral to Ramachandra Mukhopadhyay’s family, is enshrined in a modest mud-walled, thatched structure near the north-west corner of Punya Pukur, giving the site an intimacy very different from the more formal temple precinct.
