Spotting the Himalayan Newt

This is the main event. Position yourself quietly at the edge of the smaller, less-manicured of the two lakes during the early morning or late afternoon. The newts prefer the moss-covered margins and shallow areas near aquatic vegetation. Your best chances are in the weeks immediately following the monsoon (October and November) and during the breeding season (April to early June). Come prepared to wait.
