Every Saturday afternoon (and to a lesser extent on Sundays), the Sonajhuri forest, set against the eroded khoai landscape, comes alive with a vibrant market. Local artisans sell everything from Dokra metalwork and batik prints to Kantha-stitch saris and tribal jewellery. It's all set to the soundtrack of Baul singers, the mystic minstrels of Bengal.
