The Satsang Kendra, a small yet delightful place of worship, can be found just a short distance along the road that runs beside the river's main embankment. It offers a calm, shaded atmosphere and serves as a fine example of the devotional spirit that permeates even the most secular Bengali village life. The temple area around the ghats also includes several small Shiva temples and river-goddess shrines that have long served the fishing and river-trading communities of the area.
