Located 14km from Malda, this peaceful village marks a sacred site for Bengali Vaishnavites. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the great 15th-century spiritual reformer, met his disciples Roop and Sanatan Goswami here. The Madan Mohan Jiu Temple contains a stone slab with footprints attributed to Chaitanya. The smaller Chaitanya Charan Mandir adds to the site's spiritual atmosphere.
