Established in 2006 adjacent to Howrah Railway Station, this open-air museum displays the history and heritage of railways in the eastern part of India. The collection includes rare steam locomotives, the first broad gauge electric locomotive built in India (WCM-5), steam locomotive HPS-32 captured during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, and the Indraprastha, claimed to be the oldest remaining Indian Railways shunting locomotive. The Hall of Fame houses the evolution of locomotives, carriages, and wagons, while heritage kiosks display various aspects including electrical engineering (“Vidyut”), signaling and telecommunications (“Door Sanchar”), and railway staff uniforms (“Virasat”). There's also a miniature model of Howrah Railway Station and a toy train ride.

Location: Foreshore Road, adjacent to Howrah Station (5 minutes walking)

Hours: 10.30am-5.30pm; closed on Thursdays and public holidays

Entry: Rs 10 per person; Toy train ride: Rs 10 extra per person
