Pramila Devi's Grave

Quieter, more intimate, and for many visitors the emotional high point of a Churulia visit. Pramila Devi, a Brahmo Samaj woman who defied both her community and his to marry Nazrul in 1924, was paralysed from the waist down from 1939 and died in 1962. Her simple grave was meant to be joined, one day, by her husband's; it never was. The grave sits a short walk from the Academy, usually peaceful, sometimes decorated with flowers left by visitors or by students from the adjoining college.
