The Bhagirathi river ghat at Pathuria Mahal was historically Kalna’s ferry ghat, the landing point from which the town’s maritime commerce operated. Today it is a bathing and ritual ghat. One of southern Bengal's most spectacular river panoramas unfolds from the ghat, offering a view across the Bhagirathi to the Nadia district. From this vantage point, Nabadwip and Shantipur are distinctly visible on the opposite bank. Dawn and dusk at the ghat are particularly beautiful. From here, those continuing onward can take a ferry across to Shantipur to observe the famous Tangail weaving tradition on the Nadia side.
Though the Jagannath Bari temples by the ghat are poorly preserved, they feature exceptionally intricate terracotta panels on the remaining walls. These panels are well worth careful examination if time permits.
