The crescent-shaped ridge of Panchet Hill, rising to approximately 2,100 feet, is covered in dense tropical jungle with sal, tamal, palash, sonajhuri, mango, and mahua trees. There is no formal marked trail; the path follows rain-carved channels up the hillside and grows increasingly overgrown. The trek rewards with panoramic views of the Damodar River valley, Panchet Dam reservoir, and the undulating terrain of the Chhotanagpur Plateau stretching to the horizon. Allow 3-4 hours for a return trip. Start early to avoid the midday heat, and a local guide is highly recommended as the jungle is dense and disorienting.
