A morning spent ticking off the rest of Garhbeta's small temple circuit is one of the unsung pleasures of the district. The Kameshwar and Radhaballav temples carry echoes of the Sarbamangala plan in smaller form, with Radhaballav showing the same Oriya-Bengali hybrid character. Raghunathji Temple at Raghunath Bari, on the southern bank of the Shilabati, is a nine-pinnacled (navaratna) shrine attributed to Adi Malla of Bishnupur, a clue to how far the Malla kings' influence reached. Baba Basanta Ray Jiu, a Shiva temple at the small village of Raskundu just outside town, is still a working centre for traditional remedies, particularly for joint ailments; show up respectfully if you're going to look around.
