Located near the Kapil Muni Temple complex, the Omkarnath (Onkarnath) Temple is an important pilgrimage point for devotees visiting Gangasagar. It is considerably quieter than the main temple and outside of mela season can be visited in a contemplative mood. The religious architecture, incense smoke and continuous low hum of chanted prayer give the compound an atmosphere of deep calm. Worth visiting as part of the broader temple circuit after the Kapil Muni darshan.
