Directly opposite the Hazarduari Palace stands this enormous, brilliant white Imambara (a Shia congregation hall). Reputed to be the largest in India, its sheer scale is breathtaking. The earlier Imambara, traditionally linked to Siraj-ud-Daulah, was destroyed by fires in 1842 and again in 1846, and the present structure rose in 1847 under Nawab Mansur Ali Khan. While entry inside is often restricted, its imposing facade makes for a stunning photograph against the green lawns.
