Two waymarked trails wind through the sanctuary, each named after a celebrated naturalist:
Brandis Trail: Named after Sir Dietrich Brandis, the German-British botanist who founded India's Forest Service. This trail passes through dense woodland and is ideal for birding and primate-watching.
Salim Ali Trail: Named after India's beloved ornithologist and birdwatcher. The path closely follows the water and open terrain where chital sightings are common, providing excellent photographic opportunities.
All visitors must be accompanied by a forest guide, who is stationed at the entrance. The guides are knowledgeable about the resident wildlife and can identify birdsong and animal tracks. Tips are customary and appreciated.
