A ghost of the British Raj. This 1930s colonial mansion, built by a jute baron, is a classic example of its era, complete with gabled roofs, stone chimneys, and sprawling lawns. Now a (famously haunted) government-run hotel, its grounds are worth a visit just to soak in the atmosphere. It's a short walk from Durpin Monastery and the neighbouring Army Golf Course.
