This wide, vehicle-free promenade is the heart and soul of Darjeeling Town. It's where four main roads meet (“Chowrasta”). This is where you come to stroll, people-watch from a bench, ride a pony (a classic Darjeeling experience for kids), or browse the curio shops. It's flanked by heritage stores and cafes (like Glenary's and Keventer's) and offers superb mountain views on clear days.
