Mahishamardini Temple (Shakti Pitha)

As one of the 51 Shakti Pithas, the Mahishamardini Temple draws devotees of the Divine Mother from across India. The deity worshipped here is Devi Mahishamardini, the slayer of the demon Mahishasura, protected by the Bhairav Vakranath. Inside, ancient paintings of the goddess have been carefully preserved by the Archaeological Survey of India.
