Adjacent to the mosque, the madrasa (Islamic educational institution) associated with the Furfura complex is one of the oldest and most respected in Bengal, with a tradition of teaching Islamic law, theology, and classical Arabic and Persian literature that extends back to the founding peer's time. The institution has produced generations of Islamic scholars, imams, and community leaders who have carried the Furfura tradition throughout Bengal and beyond.
The madrasa is not open to casual visitors, but its physical presence in the complex, the sound of students reciting Quranic verses audible from the lane, the sight of young men in white and green moving between classes, is a reminder that the dargah complex is not merely a site of popular devotion but a centre of formal Islamic scholarship, and that these two dimensions have coexisted and mutually reinforced each other at Furfura since its founding.
