Text Body

A small seasonal river in Birbhum, associated with the region’s Bakreshwar–Mayurakshi river system, that inspired countless Tagore poems and songs. The river largely dries up in winter, leaving distinctive red-soil ravines (khoai). During monsoons, it transforms into a flowing waterway. Best viewed from the main road or during early morning/evening walks.
