Just 2 km from the Kali temple, this ancient Shiva shrine has roots stretching back to the Gupta dynasty (5th century CE). According to local legend, the present structure was rebuilt by a local ruler named Maharaja Chandraketu around 1093 CE and later renovated. The temple follows a distinctive rekha-style architecture with anomalous cornices and the complex includes a sacred lake called Chandraketu Daha backed by an ancient banyan tree said to fulfil wishes. The month-long Shivaratri fair here draws crowds from across the region.
