A few kilometres from Nanoor at Jubutia stands the Japeswar Shiva temple, whose origins local tradition traces back as far as 1000 BCE, though the present structure is much later. The Charturdashi Mela (held during Shiva Chaturdashi) at Japeswar draws pilgrims from across the block.
