About 100 metres up the trail on your right, do not miss the oldest rock inscription in West Bengal. This ASI-protected site marks the fort of King Chandravarman (4th century) and mentions Pushkarana (modern-day Pakhanna). It is a vital piece of history often overlooked by casual hikers.
