Heritage Bungalows of Takdah

The colonial-era bungalows of Takdah are the closest thing in the hills to sleeping inside a sepia photograph. The Forest Department's Takdah Club Bungalow, set on a central lawn, can be booked through the department's offices. Several private operators also offer stays in restored examples; Takdah Heritage Bungalow No. 12 is among the most frequently cited. Note that not all bungalows face the peaks, so if Kanchenjunga views are a priority, confirm with your host before booking.
