Golpata Forest (Mini Sunderbans)

A small, mangrove-scented sampler of the delta, minus the scale (and the safari drama) of the deep Sunderbans. A raised walkway threads you through dense golpata palms and other mangrove growth, with sudden windows opening to the river and the far bank. 

Do carry water and mosquito repellent, especially in warmer months. The walkway can feel slick after rain, and the light here changes fast—golden one minute, green-shadowed the next. It’s worth timing your visit for late afternoon if you want photographs that glow.
