The government-built road through the forest is, in itself, Joypur's defining attraction. Flanked by a continuous wall of sal and mahua, it creates a living tunnel of green, especially breathtaking in the early morning mist or at dusk when the light turns amber-gold. Drive slowly, stop often and watch the tree-line for movement. Deer are frequently spotted crossing at dawn.
