Just beyond the cremation ground, the ghat on the Dwarka River offers a softer counterpoint to Tarapith’s intensity. Pilgrims come here for early bathing rituals, and at quieter hours it becomes a place for unhurried walks and open skies, especially as the light fades toward sunset.
Along the bank you’ll find small shrines and modest temples tucked into the greenery, and in monsoon and the weeks after, local boat rides may be available. Spend a little time simply watching the river life: fishermen working the shallows, families pausing at the water’s edge, and the slow, steady movement that makes this stretch feel restorative.
