At the heart of the visitor experience is the fenced deer enclosure near the entrance, where the sanctuary's chital herd congregates around the feeding area. To observe a large chital (spotted deer) herd, including does with fawns and stags in velvet, arrive when the park opens. The ideal time to see them up close is around 9am when forest officials typically conduct their morning feed.
Beyond the enclosure, the forest opens into a network of informal trails through the sal and teak woodland. There are no formally waymarked routes and visitors are encouraged to go with a local forest guard or guide (available at the entrance). The trails meander through sun-dappled woods, past clusters of hijal trees, culminating at the riverbank. From this vantage point, the serene, truly exceptional sight of Bangladesh stretches across the Ichamati River.
