Danish Government House anchors Serampore’s former “centre of power”, the administrative compound that once ran the colony and later continued as a civic hub. Historically, it served as the centre of Danish administration and the private residence of Serampore’s head; after long neglect, it has been restored and repurposed with government offices and a permanent exhibition that interprets Serampore’s heritage.
Tip: Pair it with St. Olav’s Church and nearby Danish-era buildings in one tight walking loop for maximum heritage density.
