The monumental northern gateway to Gour is an awe-inspiring introduction to the citadel. Built in 1425, this massive red-brick entrance rises to over 21 m and spans roughly 34.5 m in width, with corner towers that give it a fortified, ceremonial presence. Older accounts also describe it as a “Salami Darwaza,” linked with gun-salute traditions at the gateway.
