Boating is the quintessential Mukutmanipur activity. Motorised boats and smaller paddle boats depart from the dam area and typically cover a circuit that includes three main stops: the Mohana (the confluence of the Kangsabati and Kumari rivers), Bonpukuria Deer Park, and Pareshnath Temple. The crossing is an enchanting experience in its own right, as the sheer scale of the water causes the shoreline to vanish at certain intervals. Dotted with tiny, lush islands, the reservoir takes on a breathtaking, archipelagic quality. Bring snacks, water, sunscreen, and a camera.
